ABOUT

Le Prechaun brings Smokey the raccoon back in a green top hat and pointy shoes for a run through Irish folklore, courtesy of Hacksaw Gaming. It's built on a 6x5 grid using Cluster Pays, so five or more matching symbols connecting anywhere on the board is enough to trigger a payout, and a Super Cascade mechanic keeps clearing winners — plus any other regular symbols sharing that type — so fresh icons can drop and chain further wins within the same spin.

The math sits at 96.28% RTP and medium volatility, a game built around repeated feature interaction rather than one single spike. What sets this apart from earlier entries in Hacksaw's Le series is a Position Multiplier layer sitting on top of the studio's Golden Squares system, giving both ordinary wins and special symbols a second way to climb.

Betting Options and Bonus Features

Stake sizing here does double duty: move it up or down and you're not just changing your cost per spin, you're also rewriting the price tag on every Feature Buy in the menu, since each one is quoted as a multiple of whatever you're currently wagering.

Position Multipliers

Land a Wild inside a winning cluster and it leaves something behind, the square it occupied becomes a Position Multiplier, kicking off at 2x. From that point on, any win that runs back through that square gets scaled up by whatever number sits there, and hit several of these squares in one win and their values compound before the payout lands. Catch another Wild win on a square already carrying a multiplier and it doubles again, topping out at 100x. These squares don't disappear once the spin's regular wins are settled, they roll straight into Golden Square territory for what comes next.

Golden Squares

Every winning symbol leaves a Golden Square sitting in its place, dormant until a Rainbow shows up to flip the switch. Once that happens, each active square reveals its own reward: Coins pay cash outright, Clovers apply a multiplier to whatever prizes are nearby (or the whole board, in some cases), Bags of Gold pull value in from neighboring squares, and Pots of Gold vacuum up the entire grid's worth in one hit. Land an Epic Rainbow instead, and every square fires at once rather than needing individual triggers. Any Position Multiplier sitting under a revealed symbol adds its boost before the final number gets calculated.

Bonus Rounds

Scatters are the gateway into 3 tiers of free spins, each one rarer and richer than the last.

  • Three scatters gets you into Arc Adventure — 10 spins where Golden Squares hold out for a Rainbow instead of resolving right away, Position Multipliers carry across the whole bonus, and a Lucky Charm Bar fills with every scatter drop, unlocking five extra spins (plus a batch of guaranteed multiplier squares or Rainbows) every five steps.
  • Four scatters opens Clover the Top, same core rules but its Golden Squares stick around even after being triggered, so an Epic Rainbow can only re-activate squares that were already sitting there.
  • Five scatters — the toughest to land — triggers Shamrock 'N' Roll, which keeps Clover the Top's setup but starts the Lucky Charm Bar already maxed, guaranteeing every Coin pays at least 1x for the full round.

Feature Buys

Skipping the scatter chase costs extra, but 5 options are on the table:

  • BonusHunt FeatureSpins (3x stake) — 5 times the usual odds of a bonus triggering on any spin
  • RainbowRide FeatureSpins (75x stake) — a Rainbow or Epic Rainbow is guaranteed, Coins locked at 1x minimum
  • RainbowRide Epic Drop FeatureSpins (500x stake) — an Epic Rainbow specifically is guaranteed, Coins locked at 1x minimum
  • Arc Adventure (60x stake) — jumps straight into the 10-spin Arc Adventure round
  • Clover the Top (250x stake) — jumps straight into the 10-spin Clover the Top round

Roshtein’s Take

Hacksaw keeps finding new ways to squeeze more out of the same raccoon, and this time it's the Position Multiplier doing the heavy lifting. Watching one of those squares survive a couple of spins and quietly climb toward triple digits before it cashes in is the moment that actually gets chat talking. Golden Squares already had my respect from earlier Hacksaw releases, and bolting a multiplier stack onto them gives a system I already liked some real bite. If I'm hunting a specific bonus, Shamrock 'N' Roll is the one — starting the Lucky Charm Bar already maxed skips the slow buildup entirely.

The 15,000x top prize won't compete with the biggest names out there, but the pacing here is strong enough that I'll happily run it between bigger sessions.
