Betting Options and Bonus Features
In Aztec Twist, the reels spin horizontally instead of vertically and wins are achieved in clusters. With Cluster Pays, Cascading Wins are usually included, but that isn't the case with Aztec Twist. Rather, landing full rows of matching symbols triggers the Respins function. Each winning symbol attached to the whole row becomes sticky.
The remaining reels are then re-spun with a random multiplier of 2x to 5x. The feature continues as long as you keep adding new rows, or as long as you add to the winning cluster. The more rows you have, the higher your total win will be since all involved multipliers are combined.
If you manage to land 3 Sun Symbols on a single spin, you’ll unlock the free spins bonus round with 8 free spins. A special Golden Mask symbol is now available. It will appear and cover an entire row, which will become sticky and you’ll look for the remainder of the Golden Mask pieces in a Rubik’s cube fashion. It will also activate a multiplier bar that is present on top of the reels made of two cylinders.
Cylinders on the right displays a prize value of 10x your stake, while the left one cylinder awards a multiplier ranging from 1x to 8x. When you land the Golden Mask symbol on your first spin, you can win between 10x and 80x your stake. Hacksaw has an obvious fetish for Rubik’s cubes and I must say that it's a really fun slot idea. Their previous cube games felt more like Tetris than slot machines but this one really stands out. The Golden Mask pieces are rare and getting them feels really rewarding because the volatility is crazy! It could still use some improvement though. A few more extra features would really make a difference and make this game more immersive.
