Betting Options and Bonus Features
Fish Eye is an ancient Egyptian-themed slot game. You’ll be playing in the depths of the Nile river on a 5x3 reel setup with 10 paylines and multiple bonus features. In Fish Eye, you can win using two different types of payout symbols. First are the classic sets of premium and regular symbols. Your objective is to connect 2 to 5 matching symbols in one of the 10 paylines.
The second way to win is through the special fish symbol called the Money Symbol. These symbols possess a random value between 0.1x to 100x. However, you need to land at least 4 or more Money Symbols to land on the reels in order to collect their values. Furthermore, collecting them also fills a special meter above the grid which can lead to the multiplier of up to 2,000x in the base game!
Money Symbols get even crazier and bigger in the bonus game. Up to 1,000x per symbol! You’ll need to trigger free spins by landing 3, 4, or 5 Scatters which reward 10, 15, or 20 free spins respectively. During the free spins, you no longer need 4+ Money Symbols in order to collect their values. Instead, the game introduces a special Collector Symbol. Whenever it lands, it automatically collects all Money Symbol values on the screen. It also has the chance to randomly spawn money symbols if there are none present.
Additionally, the special meter above the reels slightly changes. Instead of showing multiplier values, it will display the possible Money Symbols you can land. This is where the new Remover Symbol comes into play. Every time you land a Remover symbol it awards you with +1 free spin and removes the lowest Money Symbol on the special meter above the reels. This eliminates the symbol from the entire game and thus leaves you with only higher-paying money symbols.
Collector Symbols have a special progressive meter as well on the left side of the reels. Whenever you land a Collector symbol it counts toward your meter. Every 4th Collector Symbol retriggers your bonus game and adds 10 free spins to your tally!
If you’re having trouble advancing into the bonus game, Pragmatic Play offers two optional features. First is the classic Ante Bet option. It increases your chance of landing Scatters but also increases your bet size by 1.5x. Second is the Bonus Buy for 100x your stake. Buying it will guarantee 3+ Scatters on the next spin, which guarantees triggering of the bonus round.
Roshtein’s Take
Fish Eye is a slot with solid mechanics and a few good features but I can’t say I’m impressed. Mixing fishing and ancient Egypt themes is interesting but the game kinda falls flat in my book! I can’t pinpoint exactly why but even with all the bonus features and a massive winning potential of 10,000x, this slot still fails to draw me in. Who knows?! Maybe it just takes more time for it to grow on you! All I can say so far is that it is a solid game that can certainly pay a lot and provide for entertaining slot-spinning sessions.
