ABOUT

Pragmatic Play released Fire Strike 2 as a sequel to the original video slot Fire Strike (2019). And you would be hard pressed to find another slot that takes its name so literally as here we have a flame background, a fire jackpot, fire symbols and every other symbol that is not actual fire (dice, chip, bell...) is mercilessly set on fire.

Betting Options and Bonus Features

Fire Strike 2 takes it back to basic with 3 rows and 5 reels. The RTP of the game is 96.5% and it has a sizable max win of 25,000x the bet. Plus, in a market crowded with extreme volatility slots, Fire Strike 2 offers a less turbulent experience with medium volatility.

One interesting feature in the base game that is often overlooked is the 7 symbols. The game has 3 of them (blue, pink, and red) and players can make a win out of any color, but the reward is pretty minimal at 5x for a max combination. However, connecting 7 symbols of the same color yields an astronomically higher payout, with the red sevens paying 100x for a 5 of a kind.

The main attraction in this slot has to do with Fire Strike and Fire Strike Wild symbols. Any 6 or more of them on the screen will come with an instant money prize that starts at 1x and ends at 5,000x. The lucky ones that hit exactly 15 Fire Strike Wild symbols, they will get the max win of 25,000x.

The scatter symbol appears in the form of a diamond, and landing 3 of them will unlock the Firestrike bonus round with 12 free spins. This round makes it easier for players to win cash prizes by lowering the required number of Fire Strike/Fire Strike Wild symbols by 1. As a result, you only need 5 of them for a 1x prize and 14 for a 5,000x prize.

In addition, the jackpot now no longer has to be triggered with Fire Strike Wild; in fact, 15 Fire Strike symbols of any kind will unlock it. But perhaps the most helpful feature of all is the fact that every Fire Strike symbol that lands during the bonus has a chance to remain sticky. Finally, the free spins feature can be retriggered with 3 scatters.

Roshtein's Take

Fire Strike 2 clearly aims to be a straight-to-the-point slot which to its credit, it does very well. However, I just can't help feeling bored out of my mind sometimes when I play it. I'm not a fan of the different colored sevens and the Bar symbols: it makes the whole gaming experience so flat because every symbol just looks the same.

Moreover, for a medium-volatility slot the money prizes happen too few and far between. The free spins bonus round makes landing a large number of Firestrike symbols feasible with its sticky feature, but I rarely get more than 9 of them in the base game. Lowering the minimum number of Fire strike symbols required will definitely make the game feel more rewarding.
