Chicken Drop plays on a background full of familiar objects and characters which can be recognized by anyone. The grid setup is the 7x7 configuration which adds a ton of space for up to 49 colorful symbols to appear. The premium symbols of this game are regular produce including corn, blueberry, and strawberry, with the strawberry paying the highest at 1000x the stake for a 37+ cluster.
Taking a look at the math model, Chicken Drop gives a decent RTP of 96.5% while Pragmatic Play rated the game a 5 out of 5 on the volatility scale. However, this is somewhat just to offset the massive winning potential of 5,000x the stake.
In Chicken Drop, landing at least 5 adjacent matching symbols triggers the Tumble mechanic. Each winning combination is cleared from the grid, allowing other symbols to fill in the empty space. The feature continues until there are no more winning combinations to trigger the tumbling anymore.
The second mechanic in the game is the Progressive Egg feature. Players can trigger it by landing a 4-leaf clover or watering can on the grid. When the water can lands, it covers an area on the grid which can cover from 2x2 up to 6x6 while the 4-leaf clover increases the multiplier value from 2x to a maximum of 10x. After all the upgrade symbols have played, a Golden Egg will land in the area, turning all symbols in it into matching symbols while scoring for the players and continuing to tumble. These bonuses get reset once the tumbling is over.
The most notable Chicken Drop feature is the Free Spin feature. Landing 3, 4, or 5 Scatters rewards the players with 10, 15, and 20 free spins respectively. Any bonuses from the Progressive Egg feature get carried over when the Free Spin kicks in. Landing at least 4 scatters anywhere on the grid awards the players with 5 respins, there is no maximum cap on the number of retriggers one can get.
Last but not least, players in certain countries can opt to buy 100x the stake for direct access to the Free Spin bonus round.
Roshtein’s Take
Possibly one of Pragmatic Play's best games to date. It does not stand out visually, but I am willing to overlook that for the great features Chicken Drop offers. The base game and bonus round are both extremely entertaining. Thanks to the generous bonuses, I’ve come across some big hits at times.
