The Book of Golden Sands casino game is following the traditional “Book of” slot style in many ways but Pragmatic Play decided to incorporate certain upgrades and provide players with a 6x3 grid setup with 729 win ways. 

There are six premium symbols, as well as five low-tier symbols. All of them are illustrated with images traditionally associated with Egyptian culture and they pay between 0.25x and 5x your stake on three to six-of-a-kind wins. However, the slot’s main base game feature are its wild symbols. They can land on reels 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 and whenever this symbol appears it will substitute for any symbol (except scatter) to help you line up matching symbols. To trigger the bonus game you need 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatter symbols. Once your free spins begin, you’ll be assigned a special expanding symbol, a traditional start of the bonus game in “Book of” style slots, and also unlock an extra row above the reels.

Whenever the chosen symbol lands on at least 3 different reels, it expands! Furthermore, each time an expansion takes place, one instance of that symbol is then collected in the special top reel. It will then be added to any future expansion that happens on that particular reel. You can collect up to 10 expanded symbols for each reel. This subsequently increases the number of your paylines, and you can also retrigger the bonus round indefinitely.

The second method of reaching the bonus round is through the game’s bonus buy. It is completely optional and you can find it on the left-hand side of the reels.
