ABOUT

The most popular wizard of all times Merline is taking over Play’n Go reels once again. However, this time the Lady of The Lake is joining him in his magical adventures across the slot grid, helping him power the game with some serious winning potential and hefty bonus perks.

Betting Options & Winning Potential

This journey full of mystery and powerful magic forces takes place on a 5x3 grid with 10 paylines. The slots based on Arthurian legends are a pretty common occurrence in the iGaming world. The Play'n Go team has done a wonderful job capturing the essence of this supernatural world and transferring it to the reels. Thanks to their amazing work, the playing experience is very immersive and visually pleasing.

With an 8/10 rating from the provider, the volatility is on the higher side so players can expect a thrilling gameplay that can bring them some breathtaking rewards. The reels are packed with a 10,000x winning potential and the betting range goes from £/€0.1 up to £/€100. In terms of RTP, the game is set at 96.2% which is not necessarily impressive but fits within what’s considered industry standards.

The most you can earn from regular symbols is 1,000x the bet for lining 5 premium symbols. Lady of the Lake herself is Wild and substitutes for all regular symbols and helps create a winning combo. To trigger the bonus round, a player needs to land at least 3 Excalibur scatters. This rewards 8 free spins and 1x, 10x, or 100x win, depending on the number of scatters that activated the bonus.

One symbol is randomly selected on each free spin to be an expanding symbol.  When there are enough of them on the grid to form a winning combo they will cover the entire reel. During the bonus game, when 2 or more Excalibur wilds land, each of them awards 1 Excalibur spin. The special symbol from the triggering free spin remains and additional perks is that they can be retriggered indefinitely.

Roshtein’s Take

Well, it’s not the best slot I ever played but it’s certainly not the worst. Lord Merlin and Lady of The Lake lands somewhere in the middle. In its core, this release has ‘Book of’ type mechanics but the base game is pretty tame. Although regular symbols in an ultimate winning combo can bump up your balance significantly, it seems Play’n Go has left all the action for the bonus round.

The special features during free spins is what elevates the slot and enriches the gameplay. And that 10,000x max win is nothing to snicker at as well. Overall, it’s an enjoyable game with a great winning potential and amazing visuals but it doesn't bring anything new or groundbreaking to the table.
