ABOUT

Enjoy all of the most popular forms of gambling in one! Derby Wheel by Play'n GO is the ultimate betting experience featuring slot reels, a wheel of fortune, and even horse racing. Pick your favorite mechanical steed and watch it bolt to the finish line. For the most volatile gameplay, pick up to 3 individual horses!

Betting Options and Bonus Features

Derby Wheel is a gameshow-style slot that has multiple classic gambling games cramped together. The game takes place on a massive 3x3 wheel that features the classic fruit icon symbols.

Whenever you manage to connect 3 matching symbols in one of the 5 paylines you’ll get a reward between 1x and 5x your stake. There is no wild symbol in this game, but the scatter symbol plays an important role in triggering both bonus features.

Getting 3 scatters anywhere on the screen causes the Fortune Wheel to spin. The wheel consists of two segments: one segment reveals a Horse Racing feature, and the other a Big Wheel feature. In the Big Wheel bonus game, you spin for cash prizes of up to 200x. In addition, you can also win the Horse Racing feature there as well.

With the Horse Racing feature, you have four betting options, including the option not to bet at all. The options are:

  • No Bet - skip the Horse Racing bonus round and get a 40x prize.
  • Win - pick the winning horse and win up to 800x your stake.
  • Exacta - predict the 1st and 2nd winning horses in the correct order and win up to 1,800x your stake.
  • Trifecta - predict the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd winning horse in the correct order and win up to 2,240x your stake.

The race is contested by robot horses and jockeys, whose names are White Stallion, Red Rocket, Purple Rain, and Bronze Grace. And during the Exacta and Trifecta, in the case of at least one successful pick, you will still win a small prize.

Roshtein’s Take

Very creative approach by Play'n Go! The base game lacks features but the bonus games are worth waiting for. Horse racing obviously feels a little scripted but also very satisfying when you manage to pick the right horse.
