ABOUT

Dawn of Egypt by Play N’ Go is a great match for players who are into ancient mythical Egyptian aesthetics. Plus, the slot is definitely one of the better-looking ones in the genre and powered by a symbol-upgrading mechanic in the bonus, it can surely offer quality entertainment.

Betting Options and Bonus Features

With a somewhat traditional-looking reels of 3x5, Dawn of Egypt features beautifully-illustrated symbols such as tulips, cobras, scorpions, and even the God of Horus that pays 100x for a full line. The slot has a standard RTP of 96.23% and a max win of 5,000x the bet. Not chasing the ultra modern slot trend of ‘go big or go home’, the volatility here is set a medium-high (7/10).

The gameplay of Dawn of Egypt slot also has a handful of features. In fact, the only novelty in the base game is a Wild symbol, replacing all regular symbols and paying 100x for a 5-of-a-kind combo. The scatter symbol looks like a blue pyramid, and aside from triggering the bonus with 3 scatters, they pay surprisingly well with 5 (1,600x the stakes).

The bonus game starts with the Wheel of the Gods, which dictates the number of free spins you get, from 4 to 20. On every free spin, a high-paying symbol is selected, and every high-paying symbol below it will be turned into the chosen symbol. For example, if cobras are selected, all tulips, the Ankhs, and scorpions will be upgraded into cobras.

In addition, there are red pyramids during the free spins called Wild Scatters. These act as a second wild, and landing 2 or more triggers the Pyramid Spins. Each wild scatter can reveal 1 - 4 pyramid spins, so landing 4 wild scatters can get you a maximum number of 16 spins. The Pyramid Spins feature retains the symbol upgrade from the triggering spin and can be retriggered without limit!

Roshtein’s Take

Dawn of Egypt slot is ranked somewhere in the middle: not bad but not amazing. When you get lucky and have a full line of the God of Horus or a few Pyramid Spin retriggers in a row, the slot can be stupid fun, but that kind of goes for every slot. Objectively looking at it, the features in here are not too special or mouth-watering. It still pays pretty well most of the time though, that I can’t take away from it.
