ABOUT

Hex Bloom casts players into a strange little garden of symbols, spells, pentagrams, and tumbling wins, where every cluster can help the board blossom into something far more dangerous. This is a 5x5 tumbling cluster-pays slot, meaning there are no traditional paylines to chase. Instead, players need to land 4 or more matching symbols connected horizontally or vertically anywhere on the board to score a win.

Winning symbols explode away, fresh ones tumble down from above, and the spell can keep chaining as long as new clusters keep landing. The theme leans into magical bloom energy with a darker hexed twist, mixing wild symbols, pentagram patterns, global multipliers, and a multi-stage bonus that can grow from a simple spark into a full ritual of rewards. With 96.00% RTP and a massive 20,000x max win, Hex Bloom has plenty of bite beneath the petals.

Betting Options and Bonus Features

Hex Bloom has a wide betting range that works for casual spell-casters and high-stakes hex hunters alike. The game runs on a 96% RTP, while the maximum win is capped at a powerful 20,000x the bet. The volatility is high, complete with tumbling clusters, escalating bonus stages, global multipliers up to 100x, and huge block Wild potential!

The main action starts with the cluster pays system. Any cluster of 4 or more matching symbols connected horizontally or vertically pays, then winning symbols explode and new symbols fall into place. This creates the potential for repeat wins on a single spin, especially when Wilds and pentagrams start joining the ceremony. Wilds substitute for any paying symbol and can land naturally, but the real magic happens when they are summoned as 2x2, 3x3, or 4x4 block Wilds through the pentagram feature.

The Pentagram appears during Hex Spins and the Hex Bonus as a backer on the grid. Whenever a symbol wins on a pentagram cell, that cell lights up. Light up every cell in the shape, and the game summons a block Wild of that size directly at the pentagram’s position. In other words, complete the pattern, and the board gives you a chunky Wild bloom right where it hurts.

The Meter is another key part of the spellbook. Every symbol won fills the meter, and once it reaches 35, the Hex Bonus triggers with 4 free spins. Reach 40 and you get 5 free spins, while 45 awards 6 free spins. The meter resets at the start of each base spin, so every round is its own little race to grow the magic before the board dries up.

The Hex Bonus is where the game really opens its grimoire. The bonus can run across up to 4 stages, with each stage bringing its own free spins, pentagram, and global multiplier. Stage 1 starts at 1x, which means no multiplier. Stage 2 increases to 2x–10x, Stage 3 rises to 11x–25x, and Stage 4 blooms into 26x–100x. During each stage, the meter fills again from every symbol won. If the meter reaches at least 35 before the stage ends, you level up to the next stage with more free spins, a fresh pentagram, and a bigger global multiplier range. If it falls short, the bonus ends. Stage 4 is the final form of the ritual.

Since Hex Bloom comes with more than two buy options, here is the full bonus buy setup:

Bonus Buy

Cost

What It Does

Hex Spin

250x

Places a pentagram and awards a random 2x–100x global multiplier for one enhanced spin.

Hex Super

300x

Guarantees the Hex Bonus reaches at least Stage 2.

Hex Epic

500x

Guarantees the Hex Bonus reaches at least Stage 3.

Hex Spin X

1000x

Guarantees a large pentagram and a random global multiplier of at least 10x, ranging from 10x–100x.

The Global Multiplier is the feature that gives Hex Bloom its sharpest thorns. During Hex Spins and the Hex Bonus, the global multiplier applies to every win, meaning one strong tumble chain can turn into something far more wicked if the multiplier is high enough. Pair that with a completed pentagram, a summoned block Wild, and a loaded board, and the game can go from gentle garden to full occult overgrowth in a single spin.

Roshtein’s Take

I’m a fan of Paperclip Gaming’s Hex Bloom because it takes a simple cluster-pays setup and wraps it in a proper feature ritual. The pentagram mechanic is the standout for me, because it gives every winning position extra tension. You are not just waiting for clusters to connect, you are watching cells light up, hoping the full pattern completes and drops a chunky block Wild right into the middle of the action.

The 20,000x max win gives the game serious top-end potential, while the staged bonus keeps things dramatic without feeling messy. Hex Bloom has that nice mix of spooky charm, tumbling momentum, and “one more spin” danger. It blooms beautifully, but make no mistake, this flower has teeth.
