World Cup 2022 - December 18, 2022
The last day of the World Cup 2022 was full of excitement with French and Argentinian teams competing for the ultimate title. The final game of the FIFA’s tournament of men’s football national teams took place at Lusail Stadium in front of 88,966 audience members. It was a match to remember that’s for sure!
Argentina VS France: 2 (3 /ext./ - 4 /pen./) - 2 (3 /ext./ - 2 /pen./)
Based on the first half and Argentina scoring 2 goals (Messi and Di Maria) in the first 45 minutes while France had problems finding its footing, it seemed like the South American team was going to land an easy win and go home with a trophy. However, the second half brough more excitement, more action from Les Bleus, and more goals.
Mbappe scored once from the penalty spot and then again, less than 2 minutes after the successful penalty shot, he netted another one. The extended time was necessary and both Messi and Mbappe were successful in scoring 1 goal each again. So, after a draw in the extended time, the new World Champion was going to be decided by the penalties’ shootout.
Argentina showed its dominance by finding the back of the net each time they kicked the ball while France missed the 2nd and the 3rd penalty. After the 4th successful penalty, Argentina became the World Cup champion and Lionel Messi has added the only missing football title to his long list of awards. He was also proclaimed the best player of the tournament while Mbappe got The Golden Boot as the leading goal scorer of the World Cup 2022 in Qatar.

World Cup 2022 - December 17, 2022
Croatia claims 3rd place in the World Cup 2022 in Qatar! One day before the grand finals, Croatia met with Morocco in the game for 3rd place in the football championship. Croats played a very convincing match against Moroccans who are the first African nation to rank this high in the World Cup tournament.
Croatia VS Morocco: 2 - 1
Morocco was certainly one of the biggest surprises of the World Cup 2022 - a complete underdog who was supposed to exit the tournament in its early stages but managed to end in 4th position in the World Cup rankings. Although they were really hoping and wholeheartedly fighting for a 3rd place, Croats were better and deservedly ended among the top 3.
In the World Cup 4 years ago, Croatia was a runner-up and with their performance this year, they have once again proven that they are a force in the football field. Both teams started the match with strong determination and both scored a goal each in the first 10 minutes of the game. However, it was Orsic who brought the winning score to Croats and ensured the team’s placement in the top 3.
World Cup 2022 Guessing Game - Day 22
One day left before the winners of the World Cup 2022 Guessing Game are determined based on the points collected throughout the championship. 520 players placed their guesses on the match between Croatia and Morocco and 150 were right in their predictions. Given the small differences between players on the leaderboard, slight corrections in the rankings are still possible so don’t forget to place your guesses for the last game as well. Keep in mind that the World Cup 2022 Guessing Game comes with a $100,000 Giveaway so every point counts.
World Cup 2022 - December 14, 2022
The second World Cup 2022 semi-final match took place and the finalists of this most popular football championship are now decided. France defeated Morocco and qualified for the finals that are taking place on Sunday December 18, 2022. The European team is meeting Argentina and the fans are already expecting a true football spectacle.
France VS Morocco: 2 - 0
By defeating Morocco, France secured its second consecutive World Cup final. Les Blue have won the last football championship and now have the opportunity to do it again and show the world that France is a serious football powerhouse.
It was Theo Hernandez's goal that gave France a lead early on but Randal Kolo Muani’s goal was the one to secure the win. With this win at the Al Bayt Stadium, France became the first defending champions to qualify for consecutive World Cup finals since Brazil did it in 1998.
Morocco is definitely the biggest success story of the World Cup 2022! Although they failed to qualify for the finals, they gained a huge respect from the football fans all over the globe. From a complete underdog to a semi-finalist, Morocco is the first Arab country that was able to come this far in the World Cup competition ever. The African team will be meeting Croatia on Saturday in a match for 3rd place.
World Cup 2022 Guessing Game - Day 21
For the second game of semi-finals, 956 people joined the Guessing Game and submitted their predictions. Out of all of them, 329 made a correct prediction and got points added to their score on the leaderboard. With only 2 World Cup 2022 games left, things are seriously heating up! The points difference between the top-ranked players of the Guessing Game is quite tight so the things still can change and the winners of the $100,000 are announced!
World Cup 2022 - December 13, 2022
The first finalist of the World Cup 2022 in Qatar is determined! In the semi-final match between Argentina and Croatia, the South American country won and became the first team to qualify for the finals that are taking place on Sunday December 18, 2022.
Argentina VS Croatia: 3 - 0
At the Lusail Stadium, Lionel Messi successfully led the Argentinian national football team to the finals! He was also the one to score the first goal of the match from the penalty spot after Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic’s foul on Alvarez. The second goal was scored just 5 minutes later by Alvarez which provided Argentinians with a comfortable lead against the opponent. After the break, it was again the amazing Messi - Alvarez duo that managed to break the Croatian defense and score for the 3rd time.
Croatia lost a chance to play in the World Cup finals for the 2nd successive time but they were simply not a match for the Argentinians. Still, hats off to Croats who managed to rank once again among top 4 in the World Cup and show the fans they are still a football powerhouse. Luka Modric, team’s captain and experienced midfielder, will probably not have a chance to play at another World Cup since he is 37 years of age so even though it’s not an ideal send-off, it is definitely an honorable one. The next step for Croats is a match for the 3rd place in the tournament against the losing team from the match between France and Morocco.
World Cup 2022 Guessing Game - Day 20
The World Cup 2022 Guessing Game is entering its final stage. For the first semi-final match of the World Cup 2022, 1,070 people made their guesses and 360 of them made the correct guess. Morocco VS Portugal: 1 - 0
At the Al-Thumama Stadium, Morocco defeated Portugal and became the first African nation to reach the World Cup 2022 semi-finals. Cristiano Ronaldo was visibly distraught after the match ended but Morocco’s win was definitely deserved as the national football team of this African nation has shown incredible dedication and left their heart on the pitch.
England VS France: 1 - 2
France exited the quarter-final match against England as a winner. The game was exciting and nerve-wracking but both teams fought till the very end for the chance to qualify for the semi-finals. World Cup 2022 - December 9, 2022
Things are heating up in the World Cup 2022! The finals are less than 10 days away but the teams who are going to compete in the final football battle are still unknown. First, the quarter-finals are taking place!
Croatia VS Brazil: 1 (4) - 1 (2)
The mighty Brazil is out! In the first match of the quarter-finals, Croats managed to defeat Brazil and earn their spot in the semi-finals. Although the odds in online casinos were on the side of Brazil, once again it was proven that the underdog can triumph. The regular part of the match ended in a draw but when it came to penalties, Croats dominated and ended the game with 4 penalties scored while Brazil was left at 2.
Netherlands VS Argentina: 2 (3) - 2 (4)
The winner of the second World Cup 2022 semi-finals match also had to be decided with a penalty shootouts. Lionel Messi scored 2 goals and the Argentinians were holding the victory result deep into the second half but Netherlands’ Wout Weghorst scored twice in the late minutes of the match and gave his team another chance for the win. After extra time didn’t bring any goals, it was time for penalties and Argentina managed to qualify to the semi-finals with a 4 - 3 result in the penalties shoutouts.
World Cup 2022 Guessing Game - Day 18
In the World Cup 2022 Guessing Game, 1,338 players have made their guesses for the matches on the first 2 quarter-final games! World Cup 2022 - December 6, 2022
The Round of 16 is officially over and all the quarter-finalists of the World Cup 2022 in Qatar are known. There was a major upset and history was made when Morocco knocked out Spain and became the first Arab country to qualify in the World Cup’s top 8.
Morocco VS Spain: 0 (3) - 0 (0)
On the last day of the Round of 16 phase of the World Cup 2022 championship, the first to meet were the national teams of Morocco and Spain. Before the game started, the odds in online casinos were largely on the side of the European team but Morocco will soon show what has been shown several times in the first 2 weeks of the tournament - underdogs can beat the favorites.
Morocco was able to match Spain in their game and keep the result at a draw for the entire game so the winner had to be decided by the penalties. And that’s the moment when the Moroccan goalkeeper took the center stage and blew away the entire football world. Yassine Bounou was able to save the first 3 penalties shots by Spain and advance his team to the quarter-finals of the World Cup 2022 in Qatar.
Portugal VS Switzerland: 6 - 1
No surprises here, even though some predicted there might be. Portugal entered the match as a favorite and was successful in dominating the entire match, netting 6 goals in total against Switzerland. Manuel Akanji scored 1 goal for Switzerland but the national team from central Europe was not able to match the power and skills of Portuguese players. After this match, Portugal is going to meet Morocco in the quarter-finals.
World Cup 2022 Guessing Game - day 17
On the last day of the knockout phase of the championship, exactly 1.687 people submitted their guesses in the World Cup 2022 Guessing Game. Morocco's triumph was really unexpected which is clearly seen in the Guessing Game stats with only 54 people correctly predicting the results of both matches. 998 people did submit a correct guess for 1 game. The turn of events has certainly affected the positions on the leaderboard and the number of balls (points) people collected from these matches.
World Cup 2022 - December 5, 2022
The Round of 16 part of the World Cup competition continues in Qatar with teams qualifying for the quarter-final matches. There were no major upsets and the games went pretty much as expected and the winners were not surprising at all.
Japan VS Croatia: 1 (1) - 1 (3)
The next to qualify for quarter-finals of the World Cup 2022 Qatar is Croatia. Still, the game was not easy and Japan held their own throughout all 90 minutes. The game ended in a draw so the penalties followed and that’s where the Croatian team dominated. The player of the match is Croatian goalkeeper Livakovic who managed to save 3 penalty kicks and secure his team a spot in the final 8.
Brazil VS South Korea: 4 - 1
90 minutes were more than enough for Brazil to secure a win against South Korea and move forward to the next World Cup 2022 competition stage. Brazil dominated the whole game and Vinicius Jr, Neymar Jr, Richarlison and Lucas Paqueta all scored a goal each in this Round of 16 match. The South Korean team did manage to net one goal in the second half but it was not enough to stop the powerful Brazil.
World Cup 2022 Guessing Game - Day 16
Things are really heating up in the World Cup 2022 with Round of 16 matches and the Guessing Game players are collecting more and more balls (points) with each new game. The day 16 brought 2 interesting matches and 1,810 people made their guesses. 1,100 made correct predictions for 1 match while 185 guessed the correct results for both games.
To be clear, the end results in the Guessing Game are the results after 90 minutes (+injury time) of the game and not the penalties. So, while Croatia is a winner of the match and goes to the next stage, it happened only after penalties shots so the end result in the Guessing Game for this match is a draw.
World Cup 2022 - December 4, 2022
The knockout stage continues on to the World Cup 2022 in Qatar. There were no surprises as both England and France managed to score a win and move to the next stage of the championship.
France VS Poland: 3 - 1
History was made yesterday when French Olivier Giroud scored an opening goal of the match, his 52nd goal wearing a national jersey, and became France's all-time record scorer. In the second half Kylian Mbappe netted not one but 2 goals and secured the win against Poland. Robert Lewandowski managed to score 1 goal from the penalty point and ensure Poland doesn’t go home goalless.
England VS Senegal: 3 - 0
The second match of the day in the Round of 16 phase went as expected, with England showing its dominance against Senegal. At the Al Bayt Stadium, England’s Jordan Henderson, Harry Kane and Bukyo Saka scored 1 goal each and ensured the Three Lions team advances to the next phase. The European team was able to score 3 goals - Memphis Depay (10 minute), Daley Blind (45 minute), and Denzel Dumfries (81 minute) - and secure its passage to the next phase of the World Cup championship. The USA’s Haji Wright scored a goal in the 76 minute but the Americans were unable to match the Dutch on the football pitch so their Qatar football experience ends here.
Argentina VS Australia: 2 - 1
Argentina came into this match as a favorite and they didn’t disappoint. Lionel Messi scored the first goal of the match in the 35th minute. The second half was more exciting with both teams scoring once (Julian Alvarez for Argentina and Enzo Fernandez for Australia) and more than a few chances for both teams. However, in the end, Argentina’s win pushed them to the quarter-finals while Australia had to say goodbye to the World Cup championship.

The last matches in the group stage are over and the lineup for the Round of 16 phase is now known. That doesn’t mean that the last day of the group competition didn’t have a few surprises. Let’s see the end results.
South Korea VS Portugal: 2 -1
South Korea was the first national team to win all of the group matches in the group phase since 1994. Their last match in this part of the championship was against Portugal and they landed a victory which led them to the top of group H and right to the Round of 16. This is the 3rd time since 1948 that South Korea was successful in qualifying to the knockout stage.
Ghana VS Uruguay: 0 - 2
Uruguay met with Ghana at Al Janoub Stadium and scored a victory. However, this was not enough for them to move to the next stage of the World Cup 2022. Both Uruguay and South Korea had the same number of points at the end of the group round but the South Korean national team is the one to move forward based on the goals scored. Ghana leaves home as the last-ranked in the group H.
Serbia VS Switzerland: 2 - 3
It was a rollercoaster match with many chances for both teams! In the first half both Serbia and Switzerland scored 2 goals each but just minutes into the second half of the match, Remo Freuler managed to bring the lead to Switzerland. The result stayed the same for the remainder of the match as Switzerland was successful in defending their goal and didn’t allow Serbia to take another chance. This win propelled Switzerland to the knockout stage where they now have to meet with Portugal.
Cameroon VS Brazil: 1 - 0
Cameroon met Brazil at Qatar's Lusail Stadium and managed to win! Although this does nothing for Cameroon in terms of qualifying to the knockout stage, winning against one of the football superpowers certainly is a great exit from the World Cup 2022! Cameroon finished 3rd in the Group G rankings, behind Portugal and Switzerland.

World Cup 2022 - December 1, 2022
To say that this World Cup in Qatar has been full of surprises would be an understatement. The ranking of teams in Group F is one of those surprises but all teams have given their best, left their heart of the pitch and some of the underdogs were able to position themself high enough to pass to the knockout stage.
Croatia VS Belgium: 0 - 0
At the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium in Ar-Rayyan, Croatia met with Belgium. The end result was a draw which left Belgium out of the knockout stage for the first time since the 1998 World Cup. Lukaku had more than a few chances to find the back of the net and led Belgium to victory but was unsuccessful in all of his attempts. Croatia ended the group stage as the second placed and is moving to the next phase.
Canada VS Morocco: 1 - 2
One of the biggest surprises in the World Cup 2022 is certainly Morocco's amazing gameplay. In the last game in the group stage, the African team met with Canada at Al-Thumama Stadium and managed to score 2 goals and take a win. Morocco finished this phase of the championship at the top of the Group F and qualified for the knockout stage for the first time since 1987 and the second time in men’s national teams history.
Japan VS Spain: 2 - 1
This was the first loss for the Spanish national team in the World Cup 2022 competition so far. Although the last goal for Japan is controversial due to the VAR ruling, it still stands that the Japanese team has managed to win against Germany and Spain in group stage and move to the Round of 16. Spain is also moving forward to the knockout phase.
Costa Rica VS Germany: 2 - 4
In the last match of Group E, Germany won against Costa Rica but it was not enough for the four-time champions to qualify for the next World Cup stage. Germany’s early exit is one of the many surprises as most football fans expected them to qualify for the knockout stage at least. However, they ranked 3rd at the end while Costa Rica finished last in the group with 3 points.
World Cup Guessing Game - Day 12
For the final matches in groups F and E, 2,333 people submitted their predictions in the World Cup 2022 Guessing Game. World Cup 2022 - November 30, 2022
The group stage of the World Cup 2022 is slowly coming to an end. Wednesday matches did produce a couple of surprises which is sort of on brand with this Word Cup championship. Tunisia winning against powerful France was an upset but didn’t affect who moves forward. Australia’s win against Denmark catapulted the teams from the Land Down Under to the next phase for the first time since 2006.
Tunisia VS France: 1 - 0
Although Tunisia was successful in defeating the reigning world football champion, it was not enough for them to move forward in the competition. Wahbi Khazri made history by not only scoring in the match against France but by also becoming the first African player to score in 3 consecutive matches. Still, France ended as the leader of the group with 7 points while Tunisia had to say goodbye to the World Cup 2022.
Australia VS Denmark: 1 - 0
Thanks to the goal of Mathew Leckie in the second half of the game and win against Denmark, Australia was successful in qualifying for the Round of 16. Denmark had several good opportunities in the first half but missed them all and this loss means they are leaving Qatar much sooner than expected. This is the second time in history that Australia managed to enter the knockout stage.
Poland VS Argentina: 0 - 2
Winning over Poland, Argentina secured that they enter the Round of 16 stage as a top-ranked team in Group C. In the first half of the match, Wojciech Szczezny managed to save the penalty performed by Lionel Messi but Alexis McAllister and Julian Alvarez broke Polish defense and scored a goal each in the second half. This win positioned Argentina at the top of the group ratings and pushed them directly to the knockout stage.
Saudi Arabia VS Mexico: 1 - 2
Despite winning against Saudi Arabia in the final match of Group C, Mexico is done with the World Cup 2022. Based on the goal difference, Mexico wasn’t able to overcome Poland and ended 3rd in the group rankings. Luis Chavez and Henry Martin scored a goal each but that wasn’t enough for Mexico to advance to the next stage.
